The Government Research Services team, which provides you with the quality information services that you rely on to do your work, now has budget information for the 2011 -13 biennium. As with most agencies, we have experienced cuts in funding. Our discretionary supplies and services budget is down significantly.
What does this mean for you? For print and video materials, it means that we will be purchasing items only as they are needed rather than in anticipation of your information needs. This may result in short delays in filling requests but will ensure that we use our collection dollars to meet the most immediate needs. As always, we are also able to borrow materials from other libraries to fill your information needs. For more information on this service, visit http://library.state.or.us/services/materials/index.php
We are also eliminating approximately one third of our online resources. Library staff have made every effort to cut resources with lower use or very specialized user groups. The rest of this page includes information about other resources that may be helpful for finding similar information and other ways library staff can help you meet your information needs. These cuts will take place as our subscriptions expire over the next six months.
