What is this service?

The library offers training in the use of library information products, tools, and services. Classes are offered in Salem, Portland, and other regions throughout Oregon.

Instruction is offered at no cost to state employees; however, registration is required.

Class content and structure includes formal training in specific topics as well as customized training developed to fit your particular group's needs and time-frame.


Training

  • Library Mini-Learning Conference - Popular 3 hour orientation to library products and services
  • Hands On Learning - Computer lab classes with a specific, topical focus
  • Virtual training - Live, web-based instruction delivered to individuals and small groups on custom topics.
  • Custom training - Instruction and presentations tailored to meet the needs of your group

What will I receive?

You will develop information skills that will enable you to effectively and efficiently perform critical research and obtain answers to your questions.

  • Gain the knowledge and skills necessary to use a wide array of library resources and services that support professional work.
  • Learn to select, access, and search web-based resources and retrieve great information.


A certificate of completion is awarded to those who attend a Hands-On Learning class. For other library instruction the Certificate of Completion is sent to attendees upon request.
